Junior Electrical & Mechanical Design
Overview
Job Title: Junior Electrical & Mechanical Design Department: Applied Marine Automation Location: Concept House – Plymouth Reporting to: Electrical Designers & Design Director Hours of Work: 36-hour week (Over 4 Days)
Purpose of the Role
Working closely with the Martine Electrical Design Team and Design Director to provide and update electrical design-build packs for marine production.
Roles & Responsibilities
- To support the electrical & mechanical design team with amending and updating documentation, electrical & mechanical drawings.
 - To support the updating of master templates.
 - To support the updating of project-related build documentation.
 - To support mechanical designers with electrical layouts.
 - To support electrical designers with mechanical layouts.
 - To support the updating of EFN’s.
 - To support the design of new products and first builds.
 - Be responsible for maintaining their workload to ensure deadlines are met, whilst highlighting problems at the earliest opportunity (Drawing errors, build pack errors, EFN’s etc).
 - Respond to day-to-day queries and correspondence and escalate where necessary
 - Maintain and update filing and recording systems, both manual and electronic.
 - Undertake photocopying, scanning and shredding of confidential papers as required.
 - From time to time help out with the production build and test departments.
 
Desirable
- Competent user of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word & Visio.
 - Competent user of Draftsight, AutoCAD, EPlan, Engravelab, Corel Draw, and Solidworks software.
 - A good understanding of the following: o Electrical wiring symbols, engineering drawings o General electrical/mechanical assembly good practice in line with various marine standards
 - Highly organised.
 - Great attention to detail
